The hood can work if you have extremely flat terrain, but the nose on those things swing way too much. It may initially pick up the line sooner then coming onto the new row, but I think you'd find it'd have a real tough time getting the implement to the line without a whole lot of snaking, if at all.
What's the benefit of having it on the nose? Having the cord stretched out an extra 10 feet?
I admit I thought about doing it since the roof of my 7030s don't have anything metal to magnetize it to, so I was gonna put it on the hood guard.
Wasn't worth it to me. I put a plate on the roof. Works great on the MFWD's, 4wds, and articulating sprayer I've used it on. | |
