NE Indiana | Ok, first off, how old are you? I ask this because if you are close to retirement--forget about it. Second, get a few years of samples showing consistancy at 6.2. You could go out next year and sample again and find a completely different situation. Remember, you are basing this decision on 1/2 of 1 part per million (and thats being generous). And that sample may have been taken by a guy who gets paid 8 bucks an hour. I cant believe people say put 3 tons on now. Thats 60 bucks an acre added to an already stessfull input situation. Keep an eye on it and prepare to put some on after a consistant soil sample is obtained. Just as it takes a while to raise, it takes a while to drop. | |
