Mid Michigan | Ed, we had quite a bit of Lambsquarter around here in mid Michigan this year. Lots of fields of soys with them. Also the people that harvested their wheat and didn't spray with roundup have a tremendous problem with it. We have a field of soys out behind the house that is about 75% really clean because dad sprayed that part twice but the back only got hit once with roundup and it has the lambsquarter. I have been pulling them by hand. I figure it's easier than trying to unclog the Gleaner! Some of the velvetleaf that made it to maturity I have been actually pulling and hand carrying them out of the field and putting them in the back of the quad and burning them in a burn barrel. Guys are trying to only spray once and it wont work. I told dad next year on our other farm I will spray it three times if I have to in order to keep it clean. Sure beats pulling thousands of them by hand like I have been doing the last week or so! | |
