I wouldn't be so sure.

I know, it isn't the high plains, but we bought some cows from wyoming years ago. They were cut because of age, but had some life left in them here in God's country where they don't have to walk to grass and get grain in the winter..... Anyway, they were kinda wild from the haul and took a run at a pasture fence when turned out. It was a five wire high-tensile with three hot, two ground. They spooked at the fence just enough to slow down and get their noses on the wire. That's all it took. They would circle the pasture, but stay about three feet away from the fence from then on.

They'd get their noses and tails in the air when spooked, but never again tried the fence.

The key is a good hot fence energizer.

She may jump over, but she wouldn't go through or try it twice.
