East Prairie, MO | Very disappointed in the corn at this point, when I first started on some sandy dryland I was impressed with averages in the 165 range and thought "Boy is the irrigated going to be good!", but when I got to the "good ground" irrigated or not I have many fields coming in around the 140-170 range. I'm halfway through corn and have figured out that there was just too much of a wet feet problem, all yield maps go red in the low areas that would usually be making 200-240, that doesn't make for any impressive field averages! As of right now I will have to hope for a 150-160 overall average, about 35 bushels less than last year. Have some beans about ready but none cut as of yet, they look good but so did the corn. Downed corn is NO FUN! | |
