Subject: RE: Yields please

Before I post, remember that we were in the garden spot of the nation until it quit raining in August. We got stuff in on time and had timely rains (for the most part)
August was very dry, but early September brought 10+ inches.

We have combined two complete fields of corn. Both were Dekalb numbers and both were 200+ (dry), which is becoming average for this area. Both were 102 day varieties - 18-20% moisture.

We did a few complete 1/2 mile passes in later varieties (both Dekalb) 111 and 114 day corns. Yields were better than the early corn, but it is wet. Corn planted on the 24th of April is still running between 24-28%. Ouch!

I'm guessing we are going to see similar yields to last year, but much more propane is going to be used to get it out of the field.

Our beans our 3.0's... should go by mid-week. I am hearing reports of average yields (45-55) from a few neighbors.
