| Thats a good question. I can see your point though. Youd like to get the job done. Been there done that. The silage itself kind off gets sour tasting when it ferments some an youll have lot off seepage from the pile for some time. Ours seemed like a river at times. After this experience we always tended to wait as long as we could. At least until or close to black layer. If you can mix more mature corn with the milky stuff that would work..Belive me the corn will mature. It just seems like it takes forever an when you have other things to do a guy gets impatient.Good Luck an hope you a safe harvest. Hope this helps.
