Not sure about your climate and equipment, but we harvest flax with a stripper head and no-till right into it with a single disc drill. Never had any trouble and it works great.


Same thing here in central North Dakota, We harvest flax with a Shelbourne Reynolds CX 72 stripper header and in spring seed into the tall standing flax straw with John Deere 750 no till single disc drills.
No flax straw wrapping on combine parts and no waste by burning the straw.
The moisture from snow caught in tall flax straw is of great value in our dry climate.
We also like the stripper header for wheat harvest for the snow catch and combine capacity is near 50% higher using a stripper header.
