Saronville NE | Went to the salebarn today, looking to buy some 5 weight calves to put on volunteer wheat stubble and corn stalks. Had alot of calves but all so fleshy, been pushed real hard on creep feeder and basically $hitte# pure corn, and they bring $10 less per hundred than the good green calves do, why do people do this? They will do better for the next guy if they havent been pushed, and usually bring more money also if they were green instead of greasy. I know they put weight on when creep feedin, but does it really pay them to do it in the long run? Just wonderin what you guys thoughts on this is. | |
