Would you prefer to have stock in the financial sector instead?  That ground will easily gross in excess of $1,000/year with todays grain prices and cash rent at around $300/acre plus.  A 3.5% return is much better than what the stock market has been doing.  There is A LOT of 2nd and 3rd generation cash on established operations that needs to be invested, especially in a year like this year.  Times are changing, it's going to take much, much more capital to play this game in the future than it has.
