Southern Illinois | A year ago I bought about 80 acres of land that was mined to death. Phosphorus levels of 20 and potash levels of less thaN 100. I need 4 ton to the acre of lime applied this fall. But, in the past the wheat made what other fields made and the beans a year ago made 60 bushel acre. I plan on a gradual increase in nutrients, the soil lab says I need four consistant years of 600 lbs of Dap and 500 lbs of potash (ouch), I think I'll spread it out over 8-10 years and hope the values come up with time. Anybody else ever bring a piece of land up substantially in fertillity and how long did it take you? | |
