The variant rw beetle will lay eggs in soybeans to give you rw in first year corn. The extended diapauze wil lay eggs in corn and remain there through your soybean crop to haunt your corn crop following the soybeans, as explained to me. We only have the rw variant in the southern tier and a half here in Michigan. It sucks!
