| Like the guy that does our soil testing said "doesn't matter if the AA was applied in the fall or spring, if it had water stand on it for a couple days or more it's gone"
Until last fall we applied our AA in the fall, spring preplant, & sidedress depending upong soils. Every Aug we have the corn tissue tested for nitrogen availability in the plant. Sidedress is always highest, normally fall applied is nexthighest, & spring preplant is 3rd. Few times we have appled 28% or urea they were always last.
Last fall we applied everything in the fall. Tissue tests were all over the board. With a reading of 250 being the target we were seeing readings as low as 31 & as high as 750. Strange thing was the highes reading came out of a rather low area, not a pond but an area that is usually on the wet side.
BTW, we haven't used N-serve, even in the fall, for several years. This may have been the year to use it. Had 12" of rain in 8 days in early June.
