Callao, Missouri
County health ordinances are why it's basically over here. No one wants to smell a pig, chicken, or cow. They just want to enjoy the 'country' life. So they become convinced that livestock operations are dangerous, and outlaw manure applications within a 1/4 mile of their house. All the while I can still gass'em with NH3 all the way up to the property line.

Now how much sense does renewable energy make if we still have to import the chemical fertilizer to produce the crops?

Everyone's concerned about mega hog farms moving here. The irony of the health ordinance is that the big boys can still buy enough "buffer" for their mega confinements. I can't even build anything over 300 animal units without the neighbors consent.
