Here is a bulletin put out by U of Wyoming on growing AW Peas. Where are you located? AWP's are not all that winter hardy so they don't work well in all areas. They raise them for seed in Northern Idaho and the U of Idaho has done a lot of research on them over the years. http://ces.uwyo.edu/PUBS/B1060R.pdf
