| I started completely from scratch after college, however I always had a full-time job. I have lots of relatives that farm on the Eastern Shore of MD and also worked for a couple Dairy farms while in H.S., so I already knew a little of what to expect. 17 years after starting I was able to purchase a farm that actually makes sense from a cash flow/ profitability standpoint.
Now, thinking back I can't believe some of the machinery I made due with. Started with a 3300 combine and a 2030 tractor. Borrowed a lot of machinery in exchange for free machinery repair or other labor.
