Subject: Re: Hay injection

I'd be real sceptical. Liquid feeds by nature are more expensive the dry. Basically all your doing is taking whats in a lick tank and injecting it in a bale to help control consumption. The only way to make mollasses supplements economical is to poor in the urea, which I really don't care for from a nutrional standpoint. Injecting into a bale would safen urea quite a bit however. Looks to me like the injector is way over priced, you could build one alot cheaper. DDGS would be my first choice of supplements, Injecting bales would be my second choice, and way behind is lick tanks based on cost and safety. One option I think would be excellent is injecting the bales with cheap(or possibly free) condendsed distillers soluables('corn syrup'). Injected bales would be an excellent carrier without the need for a mixer wagon.
