I've been encouraging my customers to walk thier fields, push some stalks and prioritize thier fields for harvest. I'd agree, a week of rainy, windy weather and we'd be picking it all off the ground.

Weighed a side by side today. Pulled one stalk at random, anthracnose all the way up and down the stalk, counted 6 corn borer holes, 4 of them at the shank or below the ear. Corn is at 21%, 150 +/-.

Lots of northern leaf blight, some grey, tons of corn borer everyplace I look (except in CB resistant corn of course). This is in Central IL near Decatur.

Give your stuff a look and get it out where you need too. Better to dry an extra few points than to lose 30 bushel to a windstorm!!

Good Luck!
