Ottawa, Ontario | I'm in Ontario and still choose to sell to the wheat board. I like the new option to forward contract rather than having to put all of your production in the pool.
I contracted 75% of my crop for cash and put the balance in the pool. Last year I sold too much for cash to the local elevator and would have been better off to put it in the pool.
I hope the west gets opened up soon so the producers have some options. I know in the past they were further ahead to cross the border and sell into closer markets vs. paying for transport to wheat board locations, prices were likely better too.
