| I ran into a similiar situation everal years ago. Aug had been wet & this particular variety's ears didn't drop like most. When I satrted shelling it I could see kernals with sprouts in the grain tank. Got off and walked out into the corn & you could see that the shucks were lose on at the tip & had sprouts coming out. Pull the shucks back & water would fly out :~(. I was concerned about putting it in a bin & how well it would keep soI took a sample to the owner of the elevator we do business with & asked his opinion. he said he didn't think I would have a problem with it, especially since our bins had stirrators & they would rub off the sprouts. Did as he said & when the corn came out of the bin you couldn't tell it ever had sprouts on it. | |
