Subject: RE: Wet distillers grains in silage pile

Callao Missouri
We put wet corn gluten with our haylage in a bunker in the spring. Have been doing this for 3 yrs and it works great. I like the wet gluten better than distillers as it is easier to handle because it is a little drier. We did put wet distillers in the bunker several yrs ago by itself when local ehanol plant shut down driers for a day. Covered it as best as we could with plastic and it kept well but it will move like lava on a slope. The floor of our bunker slopes down the hill slightly and the 2 big bales I used for 'plugs' at the lower end moved downhill about 15 feet over a two day period.
