Subject: RE: Wet distillers grains in silage pile

Saronville NE
Lots of yards here are mixing distillers and straw or cornstalks, and packing it like silage, and bascially making silage out of it. Ive ground alot of straw lately for feedyards that are doing this. I worked for a feedyard for 6 yrs before coming home to farm and custom hay and now tubgrind, and when we did our wet corn every yr, he sealed the pile off with that liquid syrup, that worked real well. If you could get just plain gluten instead of distillers, you can pack that into the silo and use it yr round. Good luck
