Nope I didn't grid these cattle. I understood to have a straight meat bid. So I called the buyer and he said they withstood the selects but any other out cattle are deducted and that is how they buy all cattle or otherwise they would get nothing but junk from feeders. There was no use arguing, so I took my lumps and moved on. I shoot for a finish weight of 1450 to 1500 lbs, but this group just wasn't the right quality. They were finished and would have never reached choice grade, so instead of feeding any more $7 corn (at the time), I pulled the trigger. They basically had done what they were going to do. If a person has time, he could tune into Manchester Livestock Sales on the internet and watch their sale through LMA's video. I had cattle in this group that ranged anywhere from just under 1100# to 1575# when sent to slaughter.
