It looks like the chaffer tin is perferated all the way to the front is it? Maybe try wiring a short piece of tin and cover about 10" or so of the front of the chaffer.

Do you have the air blocked with a rubber piece at the rear of the chaffer? How about the shoe? Both should have the air blocked so it has to go upward through the seives instead of blowing freely out the rear.

What I do to keep an even load on the cleaning unit is to pick a rotor rpm drop from empty and run by the rotor tach. For me it works very well. This way even when it gets dry, you still have a very close amount of material on the cleaning unit rather than going by sound.

Will be watching for your update as this unfolds. I have a couple cameras for my combine, but did'nt get the time this year to install them. My monitor has av out jacks that I was wanting to see if I could record from and hook my video camera to it. Have to wait till next year now.
