SW Idaho | Some to most farrow in separate pens and if I need the space for more sows we group the older litters together. Have ran up to 12 sow/litters together. In the barn that is pictured we have 5 individual stalls. The sows choose one on their own to farrow in but they get to come and go as they choose with the water and feed outside of the barn. At 10-14 days old (whenever the little ones start to climb/jump out of the pens) we remove the pens and let them all run together.
