There are a few things that one must do that offer some challenges for switching to conservation tillage up here. It depends greatly on where the ground is in relation to state waters, and whether or not wetlands are nearby whether they are farmed or true wetlands.

Soil types are then the next area to make the decision as to what might be best practice to follow within guidelines of the NRCS. Jake just has an additional "step" due to being organic.

Jake mentioned after stalks are chopped for the application. That would put the time frame AFTER or at the same time many are putting on NH3. Temps are at or under the magical 50 degrees normally.
