Subject: What is wrong with this Barley?

North Western Alberta
Here is some barley I have planted up at my dads home quarter. I rent it off him, he has never farmed it. It was broke from bush about three years ago. Anyways, very very little rain this year, so the high spots, there is little to no crop, and on the low spots, further down the hill, there is decent crop, but there appears to be a disease, or maybe its just due to lack of moisture? Anyone ever seen this before? Any ideas? It is a two row malting barley. CDC Copeland.

EDIT!!! Dangit! Camera went to high resolution for these pics, they are 700k, wont let me post. But, the head is sort of deformed, and instead of two row, it kind of went into big heads, half way up. I will have to get more pics later. Sorry. Has anyone seen a lack of moisture deform Barley heads?
