Subject: low pH

On some new rented farms we have. pH is very low- in the 4.7-4.8 range. I know the best thing would be to apply a few tons of ag. lime, but this may not be a long term agreement, and I know the landlord is not going to want to split the cost of lime. So I'm toying with the idea of using pelletized lime. I'm wondering how much pell lime I would need to at least alleviate the aluminum toxicity (or how do I find that out?) Also, would using Avail on low pH like this increase the availability of the Phos enough to solve some of the problems caused by the low pH?

Thanks all for the help.
