| Jim, clover is pretty standard fair here. I did daily strips with the cowherd for a while, but not right now. Main thing with the clover is keep pumping the p & K too it, and it'll stay. Guys around here tend to think they can just sow clover and forget the fertilizer buggy. Obviously, the stripping helps too. Best pasture I've got is some improved fescue/clover/alfalfa that was stripped with feeders for several years, then last year we applied chicken litter, man, that really woke it up, but chicken litter has even gotten high. Just for interest, you might try some of the improved red clovers. I've been impressed with one from Barenbrug called Alice. Seems to fix more N. There are also some good White clovers out there. Alice White does really well, and there are a couple from Ampac that are good. Takes good fertility to keep them around, though. | |
