Subject: interseeded clover in grass pasture (pics)

Driftless SW Wisconsin

As a followup to the interseeded clover to save N idea, I moved the cattle earlier this evening and was amazed at how they chowed down on that clover.

I also noticed a strip which I had missed with the drill (didn't use the markers to avoid tearing things up). This pasture has been grazed a couple times already this year but the clover is really coming on strong now. It was interesting to see where I'd missed the strip the cattle are all grazing in the clover and not the grass!

Also here is a picture along the backfence before I picked it up - note the before/after line. By using a small paddock size yesterday the manure was remarkably evenly spread through the paddock. I just hope the newly seeded red clover recovers from this type grazing.
