Subject: Worked with Deere and Orthman

When Orthman wanted to get into the sugarcane cultivator business, we got the first one, along with the rep and two engineers. At first they wanted to "adjust". 4 hours later, it was either leave or let me start using my service truck for what it was designed for. By the time we finished, it was very cut on welded on and mutated, but it worked, and worked well. They took it back and adopeted most of the changes, but not what didn't look right, but worked well.

Deere: I bought two '99 7810's that had throttles so stiff you had to waer gloves not to get blisters like you were pushing on a shovel. After much talking with deere engineers which is a problem to talk to, and explaining that I had a 25 yrs old 4630 with 9000 hrs and a throttle that worked and these two new ones wre pitiful, I challenged them to a fix. The adoption was made and we worked though it. When I traded them in '02 for two nes ones the changes were there and worked. I may have been part of that change.
