Martinsville, Ohio | Now I shook up two great posters, one I have met and one I don't think I have.
This is kind of like Jill Clapperton talking about soil life.
We are not down there seeing what is going on.
Yes, we can dig up roots but do we understand what we are looking at? I don't think so, we watch yield, harvestability, moisture, test weight and hopefully the bottom line.
I don't care really about the root type, I care about net profit. Then you go back and try to match hybrid to root type and what cause you to like it or dislike it.
Tom, you are a great notill farmer. 95h, I am sure you are too.
I don't think anyone knows enough to tell you what you should plant.
Another reason for strips and plots on your farm which both of you have done.
I feel I figured out what works for me. I could be wrong.
Lots to be said about making things simple, I appreciate that. There are so many variables it is hard to narrow them down or we just give up and plant what we think is best. Then we wonder if we planted the best. The dog chases his tail.
