Boyd, WI
The last time I used wet cake, I had the analysis done and was impressed. Got the stuff for free (a few hundered ton) and hired it hauled and spread. That was two years ago. I figured I had my N needs filled for the next two years in corn on corn at 10 ton per acre. 1/2 available 1st year, other half broken down in year 2. This was wet cake. The cost of hauling and spreading was about 10% above the cost of sidedressing N for those two years, but I had some ground that needed some building up. This allowed me to get some P, K, S, etc and some organic matter. Grew a nice crop of corn both years, and I don't feel it peetered out last year either. Should have tissue tested to see how the plants actually felt about it!
