Subject: Re: P-Nut innoculant

South Carolina
We are located in South Carolina [Marlboro County] and have been growing peanuts for four years. We use the liquid innoculant and have never had a problem unless it was dry and the innoculant died before it could become active. This year we used both the INTX and Hi-stick brands and we are having innoculation problems with the INTX brand. The fix is very expensive with amonium sulfate applied at 300 lbs [around $70/acre] and even with the additional N application yields are not expected to be as good as a well innoculated plant. Needless to say folks are very upset with the prospects and the additional cost due to what appears to be a product failure. According to extension folks this problem is state wide.
