Lander, WY
It appears the judge they picked is actually a common sense, understanding judge. He seems to understand that it takes planning in agriculture, and people were planning on a provision that was put into place and into action in some places...almost sounds like he was saying yes, the government should have done more impact study, but it's completely unfair to file a lawsuit at the last possible moment and halt the program... It will definitely help here in Colorado! Southern Colorado was already open to emergency grazing under drought designation, and with about 3 inches of precipitation this year in most of NE Colorado, we are needing some pasture. I've heard some people getting ready to liquidate herds if this didn't get through...

This will vary by place, but on our CRP, the grazing will be a great benefit to the CRP. We got to put in about 200 trees 15 years ago, where we were out "tearing up" the surface, that grass looked better for the next 5-10 years than right next to it. Tearing up some old stuff and breaking the surface and pushing seeds into the ground will really show next year (assuming we get some moisture...).
