Why not have your baler man put on extra wraps of net. For a couple bucks extra you could have 5.5 wraps of net that will shed almost all moisture and be a lot less hassle. Pallets are a nice idea to save the bottom, truck tires also work very well but you may not want a collection of them on the yard.
