| Ben you are exactly right. I worked in the sale barn business for years and just about the last person to listen to about bulls is a sale barn guy. Dont get me wrong many of the are good at what they do but give them a cowherd they would be in trouble in todays economy. All they want to sell is a narrow azzed hard doing no guts gant one, well anyone can sell one of them. Use the kind that thrive in your enviroment and the rest of the pieces will fall in place.
Carcass bred Angus AI genetics have just about ruined the American cowherd. I have used just enough of them to last me a lifetime. Frame score is the last thing I worry about, if your cows are made like the calves that top many markets in the past ten years your going to be in trouble long term. | |
