| Not real sure on your exact situation. I know feeding beef cows over winter the wet gluten and dry distillers are very palatable, but the dry gluten and wet distillers are not as appealing to the cows. I haven't figured it out. One problem we have though is when mixing straw and distillers the dry stuff will not mix into the dry roughage at the low rate you need to feed it to meet feed requirements, that is where the wet is the best and we feed wet gluten. If the wet distillers is a large component of your ration, as I suspect it is, I'm betting on palatability. Seems gluten can get really rotten and the cows still love it, where any heating in the distillers starts affecting intake, this time of year, that stuff is heating by the second day in the pile, you just about got to use a load a day to keep it fresh this time of year.
