I would not do any inter-row ripping. As mentioned by others, there is the potential for root damange and bringing up slabs. Also, ripping degrades the soil structure enough that it would leave trenches between each of your rows, which encourages rutting. Do you believe that some sort of rolling harrow would be able to penetrate anything?
