Subject: soybean P and K removal rates

On average, how much P and how much K does it take to grow one bushel of soybeans?

I took a farm out of CRP this spring that had low soil tests for P and K. Like 6 PPM P and 100 PPM K.

It is a ridge top farm that is very dependant on rain, and being the first year out of CRP I did not know what kind of stand I was going to get or if I could get the weeds under control, so I really wasn't expecting top yields.

I ended up with a clean decent stand of crusier maxx treated, double innoculated beans and like alot of others we have been getting flooded out badly, so these ridge top beans may very well be some of my top yielders. Now I am wondering if I put on enough P and K to get 50 plus bu if the rains keep coming. I broadcast 150 lbs DAP and 150 lbs potash.

I am wondering at what yields levels would fertility would become a limiting factor in this situation.
