That is not correct.

A corn plant uses approximately 60% of it's total N requirement from V8 to R1 (which is about a 30 day period). Given the fact that a corn plant consumes well over 200 lbs of N during its lifecycle, the maximum daily N uptake is over double the amount you say it is.
