2 floor broiler barns.....How do they clean the 2nd floor in between batches ?
Do they use a Ventrac or something, or is it pure manual labour?
Jon, Most two-floor barns in the Mid-Atlantic area have what you may call "floor doors" and the old litter is "pushed" down through the "hole" or "door" with a garden-tractor [or like item] that has a blade on front. After the top floor is clean then they just clean it all out of the first floor with what-ever will fit in the barn.
How do they get the new litter up to the second floor ? They use trailers that have "blowers" on the back end of the "walking-floor" and lot's of big black hose!!!!!!!!
