I've found that if I keep my foot on the floorboard and toes angled just to the right of the gas pedal, I can comfortably keep the gas pedal depressed with the inside of my foot/ankle. It really works well if I am doing something where I want to just maintain a certain speed. I still operate it the normal way if i have to change speeds often.
