Alberta Canada | You are not the only one.....few realise that the farmer is still on the bottom when it comes to making a buck with high inputs. We make the same per acre now as we did 10yrs ago.......sure wheat is up canola is at $15 a bushel but, fuel, chemical, and fertilizer have doubled and even tripled. Was in today to my next yrs fert. On my canola blend its $55 an acre, was $45 last yr. If I buy the same blend in fall or before yr end it will be $110 an acre. Be nice if we could sell grain like that....oh my canola is worth $15 a bushel now but come winter and spring its gonna be selling for $30-35 a bushel. | |
