Subject: Re: South DakotaNebraska ?

45 miles south of Mitchell SD here, my corn is all in, haven't started with beans. In my neighborhood most of the corn is planted but a little north of me guys are lucky to be 1/4 to 1/2 done. We are about 3 weeks behind normal, too much rain last fall, 6 inches in one week last October, harvest was delayed and fall tillage didn't get done. The standing corn stalks really held the snow from the two April snowstorms and are extremely wet. The snow blew off the bean stuble and the fields dried off pretty quick, but the fencelines took forever to dry out. We haven't been getting big rains lately 1/3 to 2/3 of an inch, but it rains 2 out of 3 days! The corn is emerging nicely and moisture is good, just need some heat and sunshine to speed things up.
