Dalton, OH | No he'll be happy until he gets the bill from me. I get paid based on RFV and mositure. The drier and higher RFV it is the higher the price. In my mind and I believe in his its worth every penny, but its hard (atleast for me it would be) to write a check that big all at once even when you know you are getting a very good product.
Back to the merger and rake, I was worried we were losing to many leaves with the rake. I checked over some of my hay samples today and the merged stuff is 24-25% Crude Protein and the raked stuff is 21-22% CP. Merging is the only way to go ahead of a chopper. The only problem is the price of the machine. Glad I'm just hiring somebody to do it!!
Where in PA are you located? I haul hay to a few farms just into PA, one near Mercer and one near New Wilmington.
