I'm still kicking my self for mudding the corn in when the field conditions would have been way better waiting a couple more days. I know a lot folks have it way worse than I.
In the past I've always planted beans after wheat harvest. Never have combined them, just nothing there after the deer, geese, frost, etc.
With the price of RR bean seed after all the other inputs this spring, not sure what to do. I have tried a small patch of sunflowers after wheat, geese leveled them after they were up about 10 inches. I'd also prefer to stay away from flowers as I intend to put corn on this field next year.
Open to ideas for cover to carry from wheat harvest to corn planting next year. Maybe I'll find some low germ beans for cheap to plant like I have in the past. | |
