| Believe it or not there is a dryed animal blood product that you can put in your sprayer and spray either over some crops, or around the perimeter of others that works to repell deer anyway. It is not at all rain resistant so once even a small rain hits, it over. But we have used it in the nursery and it does work pretty good. Seems ma nature has built in a instinct mechanism to the animals that are considered "prey", to flea the scene when they smell the blood of their comrades. ?
There's a lot of money to be made for anyone that comes up with a way to keep wildlife out of crops at night. Luckily birds dont fly much at night so in our berries we can use noise makers to scare the birds. We have a 12 volt powered electric noise generator that cycles through maybe a hundred different sounds like motorcycles, guns, ufo landings, helicoptors, and the best that seems to work good is birds in distress. But it has a photo eye thing on it so it shuts off at night. | |
