Forecast For Middle Tennessee
Thursday Friday
Average Value 05/29/08 05/30/08
------------- -------- --------
Lowest Relative Humidity % 52 46
Hours MARGINAL/FAVORABLE 9AM- 8PM 9AM- 7PM
Hours MOST FAVORABLE NOON- 5PM 11AM- 2PM
Translation is for today, he can rake with confidence till about 9 AM or after 8 PM.
If last night after supper his hay was as dry as gun powder then today around noon he can start baling and has till around 5Pm to be finished if he wants to avoid leaf loss. Really with a low of 52% humidity at the 5 PM point it the hay will start becoming too tough to bale.
Something I learned is some grasses shatter leaves easier than alfalfa. Still grass stems look like reasonably good hay while alfalfa stems look like a bundle of sticks.
For the hay buyer who has problem with faded hay, I offer two free bales of hay. If they will feed good hay next to the green but poor nutritional hay he or she will be back. Livestock like good protein & carbohydrate levels in their feed.
