I bought the Schagel closing wheels for this spring and I'm not sure what you mean by packing it down "like that". They dont pack anything. They closed the seed slot up but you can barely see where the row is when you go to dig for seed. I couldnt be happier with them and I planted from much to clay to sand, notill, min till and plowed ground.
